The clubhouse retains its original charm and character and it almost feels like you are stepping back in time when you take your first strides into the main corridor towards the lounge.
Photographs of the great Harry Vardon who partnered James Braid in a 36 holes foursomes match at Sheringham against J H Taylor and Arnaud Massy in September 1908 (all were Open Champions) as well as other historical artefacts line both sides of the corridor and you instantly start to feel the unique atmosphere of this prestigious venue.
During the winter months a warming open fire greets you as you enter the lounge and there is coffee available in order to give you the perfect start to the day.
The Dining Room is available for a full breakfast if booked in advance and the lunch is regarded by many as one of the best available at any golf club. The Dining Room can accommodate up to 80 people and society groups of 12 or more qualify for the Society Rate on offer. Jacket and tie will be required for all groups taking lunch in the Dining Room.
During the summer months, there is a wonderful sheltered patio area for those wishing to enjoy the sunshine. Drinks can be ordered from the bar and lunch can be taken outside if wished.
Those not wishing to change into a jacket and tie for lunch in the Dining Room can opt to have lunch in the 19th where a more relaxed dress code is accepted.
