Standing Rules – effective 1 January 2020
1. OUT OF BOUNDS – Rule 18.2
The boundaries of the course are defined by:
(a) The course-side edge of: (i) the fences, white posts and white lines alongside holes 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 & 7, (ii) the fences alongside holes 15, 16, 17 & 18 and (iii) all other boundary fences; and,
(b) The course-side edge of the white posts and white lines alongside Sweetbriar Lane (the Club’s access road) and around the practice putting greens, flag pole area, clubhouse and green-keeping sheds.
When Out of Bounds players should proceed under Rule 18.2b.
2. MOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS – Rule 15.2
Fairway distance marker posts, movable tee markers, rake stands and all other movable posts and signage on the course are Movable Obstructions.
When applicable, relief may be taken under Rule 15.2a or Rule 15.2b.
3. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS – Rule 16.1
The following are Immovable Obstructions:
(i) artificial paths (including rubber matting paths), shelters, huts, buildings and steps;
(ii) fixed marker posts and discs, fixed sprinkler heads and hydrant boxes and fixed tee markers; and,
(iii) all other fixed artificial constructions on the course.
When Rule 16.1a applies relief may be taken under Rule 16.1b.
4. FIXED SPRINKLER HEADS
Immovable Obstructions - Rule 16.1 - Model Local Rule F - 5
Ball in the General Area. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1b if an immovable obstruction is:
On the line of play, and is:
Within 2 club-lengths of the putting green, and Within two club-lengths of the ball
5. ANIMAL DUNG - Model Local Rule 12
At the Player’s option, animal dung including that from Foxes and Dogs may be treated either as a loose impediment that may be removed under Rule 15.1, or
Ground under repair from which relief is allowed under Rule 16.1
6. GREENKEEPERS PATHS - Model Local Rule F-17
All roads and paths on the course, even not artificially surfaced, are treated as immovable obstructions from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.
